The Historic Transport Club Ltd is proud to invite you to the 40th annual Devon Coastal Road Safety Run being held this year on Sunday 15th July..

The run will start as usual from the Exeter Racecourse with the start control open from 8.30 a.m. until 10.0 a.m. with the first vehicles leaving from 9 a.m. and the last vehicles away no later than 10.30 a.m. The route is approximately 70 miles of South Devon scenery, coastal views and river estuaries. To mark the 40th. anniversary of this event this year we are organising a morning stop in the centre of Dawlish with a road closure in the main street with ample cafes, toilets and shops as well as being near the sea-side! The finish, around lunchtime, at Mill Marsh Park, Bovey Tracey, a delightful setting on the edge of Dartmoor.

After many years of missing out on a second stop on the Run at Buckfastleigh Station it is hoped to be able to make a return visit this year. Negotiations are in hand with the South Devon Steam Railway to use land, previously denied to them, once again as a parking area for our commercial entrants.

An optional informal road run on Dartmoor to Widecombe-in-the-Moor will take place on Saturday afternoon 14th July, leaving Mill Marsh Park, Bovey Tracey at approximately 4.15 p.m. (assemble at 4.0 p.m.). If you would like to take part please indicate on the entry form. This will then be followed by a bbq on the Bovey rally site with live music from the Plonkers.

Owners of all types of preserved vintage & classic vehicles built prior to 31st December 1986 are eligible to attend. All commercial vehicles over 20 years old are welcome to enter.

Entries this year will be limited to 225 vehicles on a first come first served basis - please apply now. The final closing date for entries will be 15th June 2018; no late entries can be accepted this year.

There is ample hotel and B&B accommodation available in Bovey Tracey. There is also free overnight camping available in the rally field on Saturday night. "PortaLoos" will be on site, but there is no fresh water supply on the site.

In the event of adverse weather conditions or other factors outside the control of the Historic Transport Club Ltd changes may be necessary to the route, the stopping points or the finishing venue. The event will run regardless of weather conditions and there will be no refund of entry fees.

To enter the run please complete an entry form and return it to the entries secretary with your cheque for £15 payable to Historic Transport Club together with an A5 sized stamped addressed envelope for the return of your rally number and event information. To obtain the entry form e-mail your request to "htcrun@dugdalevms.com" (omitting the inverted commas).
